Majuro, Marshall Islands β The Marshalls Energy Company (MEC) has partnered with Lomalo to expand its digital Cash Power options, giving customers another convenient way to top up β this time directly from a mobile app. The service goes live on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
MEC customers can already purchase Cash Power online through the MEC website at cashpower.mecrmi.com. The Lomalo partnership builds on that foundation, adding a mobile-first option designed for customers who prefer to manage everyday tasks straight from their phones.
For many households, buying Cash Power involves more than the purchase itself. It can mean finding cash, arranging transportation, and taking time away from home or work before the lights can come back on. The MECβLomalo partnership removes those extra steps, letting eligible customers top up whenever and wherever it works for them.
“Buying Cash Power should fit around your day, not the other way around,” said Jack Chong-Gum, MEC’s Chief Executive Officer. “We already offer online payments through our website, and adding the Lomalo app gives our customers even more flexibility. Top up from home, from work, or on the move, at any hour. That matters, especially for families juggling busy schedules, working late, or living far from MECβs office in Delap. It’s one more way we’re making an essential service easier to use.”
Through the Lomalo app, eligible customers can purchase Cash Power in just a few steps and receive their token instantly to enter into their meter as usual β no lines, no cash runs to the ATM, no waiting for MEC to open.
“We are honored to partner with MEC to make an essential service even more accessible for Marshallese residents,” said Iolani Anjolok of Lomalo Labs. “Technology delivers its greatest value when it simplifies everyday life, and this partnership is a clear example of what’s possible when organizations come together in service of their communities.”
To use the service, customers download the Lomalo app, verify their identity, and add their MEC Cash Power meter number. Cash Power tokens purchased through Lomalo generate a meter code that can be entered into a household meter the same way as a purchase made today online or in person. Lomalo members can add meters for their family or friends.
Customers who register their meters on the app will receive a $10 free credit that they can put toward the purchase of a Cash Power token.
The Lomalo app will be available for Cash Power purchases beginning Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
